Global Vision Week

Well i did not go to the beginnings class but Global vision week was pretty amazing. It was so cool to see the different events going around campus. This week really gave me a perspective on what it means to be global in terms of God. God needs to be thought everywhere and i find respect in those people that do that.

I actually took a spiritual test online for my cmin class and my number one gift was to be a missionary! How crazy is that?!!! I want to do mission work but i never really really tried. does that make sense?

haha, Im going to mexico for thanksgiving and that will be really fun. Ill get to help out the needy. You know i feel that if God has me here in this great United States, that we have the right and obligations to help those in need.

Genocide

Oh MY GOSH!!! TOTALLY FORGOT TO WRITE! I HOPE MICAELA DOES NOT GET MAD. ANYWAYS LET ME TALK ABOUT THIS WEEKS CHAPEL. IT WAS REALLY INTERESTING TO HEAR THE STORY OF THIS LADY. IT WAS AMAZING TO HEAR WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY AND THE WAY THAT SHE WAS REALLY HONEST. IVE ALWAYS WANTED TO HEAR SOMEONE TALK ABOUT THAT EVENT IN FRONT OF ME AND THANKS TO BEGINNINGS THAT CAME TRUE.

HITLER, WELL WHAT CAN ISAY ABOUT HIM. HONESTLY, I REALLY DONT APPRECIATE HIM FOR WHAT HE DID BUT I THINK HE IS AN AMAZING SPEAKER AND AN AMAZING MAN WHO MANIPULATED PEOPLE. I MEAN HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SAY THAT THEHY HAVE MADE PEOPLE THINK LIKE THEM AND WHAT NOT. OBVIOUSLY IF HE WAS TO USE HIS GIFT AS A GOOD THING THEN WE WOULD NOT BE SPEAKING ABOUT THIS. I REALLY DONT AGREE WITH WHAT HE DID.

THIS TOPIC IS REALLY INTERESTING. GENOCIDE. IT IS NOT JUST SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED IN EUROPE. ITS HAPPENING NOW. AND NOT IN A KILLING SENSE. ITS MORE OF THE WAY WE TALK TO PEOPLE AND JUDGE THEM. CMON, CALLING PEOPLE A NIGGER, BEANER, WHITE TRASH, ETC... THATS NOT COOL. WHAT MAKES YOU BETTER THAN THAT OTHER PERSON. I SAW THIS BOOK THAT I WANT TOREAD. ITS CALLED THE CURVE BELT OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. ITS A PHYSCOLOGICAL ESSAY BOOK THING THAT SHOWS THAT WHITE PEOPLE ARE BETTER THAN ANY OTHER RACE. WTF! THATS NOT EVEN COOL AND ITS REALLY INTERESTIN THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY AGREE WITH IT.

AND ANOTHER THING. ITS NOT ALSO ABOUT THE MINORITIES. ALOT OF THE TIME PEOPLE SAY THAT WHITE PEOPLE ARE THE ONES WHO MAKE FUN OF US AND BLAH BLAH BLAH. BUT THATS NOT TRUE. EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT EVERYONE. ALL RACES. WE TALK ABOUT WHITES AND WE ALSO HURT WHITE PEOPLE BY THIS.


I DONT KNOW, BUT I REALLY LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THESE ISSUES. I HOPE WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT LATER!

Porn and Body Image!!!

Well im really confused with my body!! I hate my body! I hate being fat! I hate being fat to the point i have to wear a shirt when i asleep. Why am i fat?! Why cant i be skinny!!! Aaah! I know that it is a body image thing and God can work with it!!! I want to not worry about it and I want to feel that God and someone will love me me regardless of my weight.

I guess a big influence on me about my image is from my family, friends and the media. PEople always tell me that im fat!!! and that i need to loose weight!! AAAAH! I hate people and their look for appearance!! CAN SOMEONE COMMENT ON THIS!!!

Porn, ha porn. I have seen porn!! It is weird to say that i have! I mean, you Micaela will think that im weird and well i am willing to trust that you wont say that I have. uhm i dont think that i have an addiction problem with porn but i will say that I do watch it as a little move to fantasy world! LOL! I know that god will work with me on this to eventually stop it!!

TO DRINK OR NOT TO DRINK

TO DRINK OR NOT TO DRINK. THAT IS THE QUESTION THAT THOUSANDS OF APU STUDENTS ASK THEMSELVES. I MEAN, COLLEGE, TEENAGERS, FEELING COOL, PEER PRESSURE, ARE ALL FACTORS IN DETERMINING WHAT YOU DECIDE ABOUT DRINKING. IS IT WRONG? WHO KNOWS. I MEAN IF YOU BECOME AN ALCOHOLIC THEN MAYE IT IS WRONG AND YOU HAVE TO ADMIT TO THAT. BUT IS SOCIAL DRINKING REASONABLY FINE? I MEAN WOULDNT IT BE JUST LIKE A COKE WITH A LITTLE BUZZ AFTERWARDS. iT ALLOWS PEOPLE TO FORGET ABOUT THE ISSUES THAT TEHY HAVE ON A REGULAR DAY AND IT MAKES YOU COOL. BUT WHAT DOES THE CHRISTIAN FAITH SAY ABOUT THIS? IS IT BAD? IS IT GOOD? FROM WHAT I READ ABOUT THE ISSUE ON THE BIBLE, I KNMOW THAT IT LITERALLY SAYS DRUNKENESS IS BAD!!!! WELL IS DRINKING JUST TO BE SOCIAL OK? JESUS TURNED WATER INTO WINE?
THE NEXT ISSUE YOU HAVE WITH THIS IS, IF YOUR UNDER THE LEGAL AGE IN THE UNITED STATES OF 21 AND YOU DRINK, IS IT BAD? OBVIOUSLY IT IS CAUSE ITS BREAKING THE LAW. BUT IF YOU GO TO MEXICO OR EUROPE, THE AGE LIMIT IS 18. SO DOES THAT CONSTITUTE ME GOING OVER THERE AND DRINKING? DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHAT AGE YOU ARE AS LONG AS YOU RESPONSIBLE?

THESE ARE SOME OF THE QUESTIONS THAT I AHVE IN FROMT OF ME. CAN ANYONE ANSWE THEM?

6 Things I Would Like To ACCOMPLISH While At APU:

1) Become a well known leader. I want to be involved in various organizations and clubs and become a well known member of APU life. I do look forward to running for ASB president when the time comes.
2) Be better with GOD!! I want to allow GOd to be part of my life and not allow for the devil to be part of my life.
3) I want to study abroad in Mexico and do some mission work. I want to be involved in bringing people GOd whenever that is possible.
4) I want to be a very socail person. I want to get to know people and become good friends with them.
5) I want to develop my academics to pe me and to allow me to get good grades.
6) I want to be an RA and help people cuase I love working with people who are new at situations.

"Top Five" Strengths

Adaptability- I live everyday to the fullest and with no regards for stuff. I take care of now and then look at the future later.

Competition- When it comes to working on assignments, playing on sports teams, or just any form of competition, I love to win. I always try to get the best scores, best wins, best overall performance, etc. THis is definitely me.

Individualization- THe friends that I have, I know really well. I have a special connection to them and thats is because I get to know them as an individual, not as a group of friends.

Command- I love to lead. I am a natural born leader and I like to express myself when i do find the time. When it comes to starting and leading a group, I have command.

Deliberative- This is very true of me. I dont like to put myself out there and keep private. Once I get to know you, I either like you or dont, yet i keep it to myself. I do have a counsel of friends when it comes to personal matters.

"Who Am I?"

Ha ha. Well my name is Jonathan Garcia and I am an 18 year old freshman at Azusa Pacific University. I am Mexican-AMerican and have lived in the United States all my life on the account that I was born here. More specifically, I was born and raised in San Bernardino, California, 20 minutes away from APU. In terms of the question of who I am, I personally believe that my ethnicity makes me who I am and why I act the way I act.



MExican is my Tradition and American is my Culture. My parents were born in Guadalajara Mexico and the immigrated here 20 years ago. Luckily I was born here and I am glad of it. At home, I eat and love Mexican food and listen to alot of Spanish Music and even attend a Spanish Speaking cHURCH. I've always worked to help the hispanic people and I am totally in love with my the traditions. At home I speak spanish and am in love with the Mexican Culture.

America is my culture... I am a fruit of my generation and well I am an American. I love baseball, I love starbucks, I love English!!! I love my style of clothes, my everything that is America. I love the United States, I love our freedom, everythin!!! The American culture is who i am.

God also makes me what I am! Knowing that Christ died in the cross for me makes me who i am. My Christian Faith is important to me as well and it makes me understand why i am here not only in this world but at Azusa Pacific University.
